Just when you thought all British ‘rock’ music was starting to all sound the same – lacklustre, mediocre and frankly dull – along comes a new independent band to rekindle the flame. Colour Colour are a three piece whose music is a throwback to British rock both in the 80s and the early 200s, and it sounds like a great cocktail of the two.
The crunching chords and the fine vocal are just the start, building through the verse to a genuinely memorable chorus – the kind that seems so easy to write but you still somehow don’t hear very often. This confidence is reflected throughout the song, which doesn’t let up until the bitter end.
The song leaves you wanting more. Which is lucky seeing as ‘Do Something Beautiful’ is the title track for a new EP, out this weekend.
