A three piece band hailing from Edinburgh, it’s hard to pick another contemporary group that sound quite like BiasFirey. Their new single – rock track ‘Running’ shows them to be dramatic, theatrical and creative without the pretentious overtones that those words might otherwise come attached to.
Opening with a guitar and vocal that sets the unique tone, the song then hits top gear with the second half of the verse kicking in at just the right sweet spot. From there, the rhythmic distorted guitars continue to chug as the song retains its momentum and a subtle build to its close.
It all hits you at quite a pace, and the unusual style is characterised by the airy but powerful female vocal. It all adds up to a song that is a compelling listen, and piques interest for the full album, ‘Hundred Thouseand Souls’ (out now).
